Genocide

Is it possible for genocide to still happen today? Unfortunately, the truth is,it can.Two instances where genocide occurred during the 20th century are the Holocaust and in Cambodia.
The purpose for Pol Pot’s persecution of the Cambodian people was to create an agrarian utopia inspired in part by Mao Zedong’s cultural Revolution which he had witnessed firsthand during a visit to communist China. The purpose for Hitler persecution was to establish an Aryan empire to include all of Europe and the Soviet Union. He believed that this land was the natural
territory to which the German people were rightly entitled, and sought to overtake these lands in order to preserve the dominance of the Aryan race.
The treatment of the victims in Cambodia land during the Holocaust were similar in many ways, For example, Pol Pot slowly denied the Cambodians of their rights. “Money was forbidden... religion banned, Judaism, synagogues were burned, Jews had curfew and had to wear the star of David.
Cambodian cities were forcibly evacuated and two million inhabitants were evacuated as well on foot into the country at gunpoint. Likewise, Nazi soldiers forced the prisoners into concentration camps, then they were evacuated by Nazi soldiers because the Red Army was approaching. Many who could not keep up we’re going to get shot or trampled to death by others.
Unfortunately, the events of genocide still happens today. People from the Holocauset and Cambodia and all over the world were killed and tortured.
